What is slime?
Slime is a type of viscous, stretchy, and squishy material that has become popular as a toy and sensory tool in recent years. It is typically made from a combination of glue and a slime activator, such as borax, saline solution, or liquid starch. When mixed together, the glue and activator react chemically to form a stretchy, slimy substance that can be manipulated, squished, and stretched in various ways.
Key Ingredients in Slime:
Polyvinyl Acetate (PVA) glue, Boraxactivators, Food Coloring or Acrylic Paints, Fragrance Oils, Glycerin, Non-Toxic Craft Materials such as air dry clays, Non-Toxic Polymers Clay Slices and other Add-ins such as glitters, slime charms, melamine foam sponge etc.
Slime general care guide:
- The main ingredient of slime is glue therefore it will melt naturally over time or in hot weather and harden in cold weather!
- Wash your hands with soap and cold water before and after playing with slime
- Play with your slime on a clean and smooth surface
- Store your slime in an airtight container and cool place
How to fix a sticky slime?
- Spray 2-3 sprays of slime activator into the slime and slowly knead the slime and repeat the process until you are happy with the slime texture.
- Be careful: adding too much slime activator can overactivated your slime and make it stiff. Only add small amount of activator at a time.
How to fix a stiff slime?
- Add a teaspoon of lotion into the slime and slowly knead the slime and repeat the process until you are happy with the slime texture.
Is slime edible?
- Some slime looks and smells yummy but Slime is not Edible!
- Do not consume slime!
What age is appropriate for playing with slime?
- Slime is suitable for children 7 years and up. We recommend that children under the age of 7 do not play with our slimes without adult supervision due to potential choking or ingestion risks.
How should I store my slime?
- To keep your slime fresh and pliable, store it in an airtight container or resealable bag when not in use. Avoid exposing your slime to direct sunlight or extreme temperatures, as this can cause it to break down or lose its texture.
- With proper care, slimes can last for a few months. However, slimes are normal to deflate or melt over time due to the nature of slime ingredients. All slimes expire over time.
Who should avoid playing with slime?
- If you have sensitive skins or allergic to borax
- Children under 7 years old due to choking hazard!
- Keep away from pets!
- Keep away from furniture, carpets and cloths!
What is crunchy slime?
Crunchy slime is a type of slime that has an added ingredient or component to create a crunchy texture. It is a popular variation of slime that provides a satisfying sensory experience when played with or manipulated. The crunchiness is achieved by mixing in small objects, such as foam beads, plastic beads, fake snows or other similar materials, into the slime base.
What is jelly slime?
Jelly slime is made by adding instant snow, which is a superabsorbent polymer that expands when water is added to it. The instant snow creates a jelly-like texture when mixed with slime ingredients.
What is butter slime?
Butter slime is a type of slime that has a soft, smooth, and buttery texture. It is a popular variation of slime that is known for its stretchy and spreadable consistency, resembling the texture of butter. We add air dry clay / Diso clay to the clear or glossy slime to make buttery texture.
